Arriving LA Part II

I was expecting to wrap up here in LA, but so far, there's been no need for a jacket, or even a scarf. I might have to wait for North Carolina and New York next week.

Our first trip up here was ages ago; to be exact, 10 years and a few months. Unfortunately, I only remember from that trip EATING SO MUCH. Buying 2-3 then-$1 Hershey's Cookies and Cream bars in every grocery break we take. Shelling out a dollar to five for every brand of Ice Cream Sandwich. Keeping big packs on Lays in my bag. Not wasting a cent to every penny my pop doles out for buffets and full meals, even if I'm already so full I could puke.

I really don't want to have the same memories from this trip. At the same time, I don't want to deprive myself. Vacations w/ a very few exemptions is synonymous to bingeing. I want to enjoy this one that way; not an exemption. A while ago, Pancho opened a bag of Ruffles. I started munching. If not for mother's reminder that we're only in our first day, I would not have stopped.

Sister Maica and I are just chilling the way we used to back in Villa Socorro -- surfing on our Macs. This is among the last of those days. I will go back to Ormoc in 3 weeks and being a wired addict, I will keep on surfing, but I will be on my own.

*** Sister Iana is missing. She is w/ her new hubby, Carlo, who lives all the way in Huntington Beach. Maica said it's in another side of Los Angeles, some 60 minutes drive away from her home here in Lake Balboa, CA. Hope to take the bus there before we leave.

*** Tomorrow, we try to sleep and rest off our travel weariness and go to Universal City Walk. Then dinner at tita Maite's. By the end of this first part of our trip (LA round), I'd have seen U2 live in concert. Yeah yeah yeah!

Later.
